Modern technologies of fire protection

Modern buildings require modern technologies of fire protection. The fact is that water is still the most effective means for fire extinguishing. It is known that up to 90% of all the fires are extinguished with water. And this is natural - it is the simplest, cheapest and the most eco-friendly way to eliminate the fire. Despite the fact that traditional methods - fire guns or stationary systems are highly reliable, they have several disadvantages. The problem is that they consume a great amount of water (more than 0.08 l / s / m2) and their use requires the availability of tanks and reservoirs. Moreover, conventional spraying with droplets of 0.4 - 2 mm diameter literally floods the room. This brings great losses, especially to modern buildings, crowded with electric cables and sophisticated technology.

That is why fire extinguishing using water mist are actively used in modern buildings. This technology has been known since the 50s of the last century. It is believed that a large amount of water effectively extinguishes the source of fire. Indeed - the powerful stream (with a droplets of 400 microns diameter) can easily reach the fire core, penetrate it and suppresses the fire without doing too much harm to objects located in the premises.
